The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released an extension order named the "Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2024."

This order will take effect six months from its publication in the Official Gazette.

Cross recessed screws must meet the requirements of Indian Standard IS 7485 (Part 2):2018/ISO 7046-2:2011, which specifies countersunk flat head screws (common head style) with Type H or Type Z cross recesses. These screws are categorized as Product Grade A part 2 steel screws of Property Class 8.8, stainless steel screws, and non-ferrous metal screws. They should bear the Standard Mark, obtained under a license from the Bureau in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This order excludes goods or articles intended for export.

For micro-enterprises, as outlined in clauses (h) and (m) of section 2 of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), the effective date is twelve months from the publication date. Small enterprises, as defined in the same act, become effective nine months from the publication date.
