OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and is set to be implemented starting from July 1, 2024.

This directive specifically applies to products known as HDPE Laminated Woven Flat Lay Tubes for irrigation. It's important to note that this directive does not cover items intended for export.

The designated products, HDPE Laminated Woven Flat Lay Tubes for irrigation, must conform to the applicable Indian Standard IS 16190:2014 (Agro Textiles — Specifications for High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Lay Flat Tubes used for irrigation purposes).

Moreover, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and regulatory authority for the specified products, HDPE Laminated Woven Flat Lay Tubes used in irrigation.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
