Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Agro Textiles (Windshield nets) (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.

BIS Amendment Order for the Agro Textiles (Windshield nets)

OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and is set to be implemented starting from July 1, 2024.

This directive applies specifically to products known as Windshield Nets. Importantly, it does not cover items intended for export.

The designated products, Windshield Nets, must comply with the applicable Indian Standard IS 17356:2020 (Agro Textiles — Specifications for Windshield Nets used in agriculture and horticulture).

Moreover, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is authorized as the certifying and regulatory authority for the specified products, Windshield Nets.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
