OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has released a (Quality Control) Amendment Order for 2024 titled "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) /Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers (Quality Control) Order, 2023."
It will take effect on September 6th, 2024.
This order applies to products, specifically Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers, as detailed in the accompanying Schedule. However, it does not extend to products intended for export.
Products categorized as Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers in the Schedule must adhere to Indian Standard IS 9755:2021 (Specification for Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers) specified in the Schedule. They must bear the Standard Mark, which can be obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and regulatory authority for products falling under Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging Fertilizers as listed in the Schedule.
