BIS (Quality Control) Amendment Order for the Ethyl Acrylate

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Ethyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Amendment Order of 2024, which updates the Ethyl Acrylate (Quality Control) Order, 2021.

Starting March 31, 2025, this order is applicable to Ethyl Acrylate products, except those meant for export.

Products made from Ethyl Acrylate must meet Indian Standard IS 14708:1999 and display the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I as per Schedule II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations from 2018

The Bureau of Indian Standards is appointed as the authority responsible for certifying and enforcing standards for Ethyl Acrylate.

Non-compliance with this order may result in penalties under the applicable legislation.
