As per this standard, freezers must maintain an average internal cabinet air temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or lower when the ambient temperature is 43 degrees Celsius or higher.

The freezer and its parts must possess sufficient strength and stability to endure regular handling, transportation, and usage scenarios. In instances where an interior light is fitted, the lamp should be adequately shielded from mechanical harm while remaining easily accessible without excessive disassembly.

When utilized in railway coaches or motor vehicles, the freezer and all its elements, such as piping and pipe connections, should be engineered to endure significant vibration and shock loads. Materials utilized in constructing the cabinet must adhere to relevant Indian standards unless specifically adjusted by this standard. Furthermore, they must be devoid of defects that could lead to unwarranted degradation or malfunction.
