Container Loading Supervision (CLS), also referred to as Container Loading Inspection (CLI) or Container Loading Check (CLC), is a critical quality control procedure that ensures proper handling of goods during container packing. It serves as the final step in your product quality control process before your goods leave the supplier's factory in Asia for overseas shipment. The Absolute Veritas highly recommends utilizing CLS services to prevent any unexpected issues when your goods arrive at their final destination.
Container Loading Supervision is essential for ensuring that your cargo is packed and shipped in optimal condition. CLS inspection services offer a detailed report that outlines the entire cargo loading process and confirms that your goods are being loaded according to your specific requirements. With CLS, you can be confident that your cargo is being carefully handled and will arrive safely and in good condition.
Container Loading Inspection is typically conducted once 100% of your order has been packed and is ready for loading into the container. This step ensures that everything is prepared for shipment and meets your requirements.
At Absolute Veritas, we take container loading seriously, which is why we perform a thorough pre-loading inspection to ensure the container is loaded properly. Our inspection includes checks on the container's condition, shipping marks, documentation, and loading list, as well as the state of the cartons, pallets, and pallet packing.
Inspect the container's state and condition
Verify the shipping mark on the container
Review shipping documentation
Check the loading list for accuracy
Examine the condition of cartons and pallets
Inspect the packing of pallets
The Absolute Veritas conducts a comprehensive container loading inspection with the following checklist:
Container Inspection: Ensure the container is dry, odor-free, and free from holes or damages
Shipping Marks: Verify they meet export customs clearance marking requirements
Carton and Packaging Condition: Ensure cartons are dry, free from mold, rips, or other damages
Random Quality Check: Open a few boxes to inspect product quality and match the order specifications
Pallet and Master Box Count: Verify the count aligns with the PO and Packing List
Labelling: Check if boxes, master boxes, and pallets are correctly labelled as per the importer's standards
Loading Process: Ensure pallets are placed correctly in the container to prevent damage
Sealing: Record the container seal number for security
Please note that the CLC focuses on verifying the product type, quantity, and packaging details but does not check product quality. Pre-shipment inspections are recommended before the CLC.
Container loading inspections (Third Party Inspection Services) are performed for full container loads (FCL) only. Typically, Look Inspection conducts 1–2 FCL load inspections per day.
A thorough cargo inspection process offers businesses much more than just peace of mind – it delivers real benefits that help minimize risks and enhance overall shipping efficiency. By implementing regular, in-depth inspections, companies can ensure the safety, integrity, and compliance of their goods throughout the shipping journey.
Here are some key benefits of detailed cargo loading inspection services:
Reduced Risk of Damage: Conducting inspections at various stages – pre-loading, mid-transport, and post-unloading – allows businesses to identify potential issues early, helping prevent costly damage or spoilage of goods.
Regulatory Compliance: Frequent cargo inspections ensure that shipments meet both local and international regulations, avoiding fines or penalties from customs authorities. For instance, specific countries such as India require adherence to customs documentation and health safety standards (e.g., FSSAI for food products).
Accurate Documentation: Through detailed visual records, including photos, videos, and comprehensive reports, inspections verify the condition of the cargo and serve as evidence for dispute resolution or insurance claims.
Faster Customs Clearance: Cargo that passes inspection without issues is more likely to clear customs promptly, reducing delays at ports or borders. This is particularly crucial for time-sensitive or perishable goods like pharmaceuticals and fresh produce.
Lower Insurance Premiums: Regular inspections reduce the risk associated with shipments, which can help businesses secure lower insurance premiums. Insurers often view cargo with a proven history of successful inspections as less risky.
Enhanced Customer Confidence: Routine inspections provide assurance to customers that the goods they receive are safe, undamaged, and delivered as promised. This fosters trust and can result in stronger, long-term business relationships.
