They offer flexible installation options, being capable of direct attachment to walls or ceilings, either flush, semi-flush, or indirectly mounted. BIS certification is obligatory for these systems, as specified in the BIS IS standard: IS 14927 (Part 2): 2001.

They are designed for direct mounting on walls or ceilings, either flush or semi-flush, or indirectly on walls or ceilings, or on structures separate from walls or ceilings. Hereinafter, these systems are referred to as CT/DS. This standard does not encompass conduits, cable trays, or cable ladders, nor does it cover electrical accessories such as switches or socket-outlets, which are subject to separate Indian Standards. Additionally, it does not pertain to current carrying parts within the system.

It's important to highlight that cable trunking and ducting systems intended for wall or ceiling mounting cannot be exported, imported, or sold in the Indian consumer market without the ISI Mark.
