Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters ((Cellular and hollow core type) -Particle board and hardboard face panels) (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently released a Quality Control Order named the "Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Quality Control) Order, 2024."
This order will come into force starting from February 28, 2025.
However, for small enterprises defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, it will be effective starting from May 28, 2025, and for micro enterprises, it will be applicable from August 28, 2025.
According to the order, Particle board and hardboard face panels of Cellular and hollow core type must comply with Indian Standard IS 2191 (Part 2):2022 and display the Standard Mark, certified under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
Please note that this order excludes goods or articles manufactured domestically for the purpose of export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards has been appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for Cellular and hollow core type) -Particle board and hardboard face panels as outlined in this order.
Individuals found violating the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
