Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Wooden flush door shutters (solid core type) - Plywood face panels) (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently released a Quality Control Order titled "Quality Control Order for Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters, 2024."
This order will become effective starting February 28, 2025.
However, for small enterprises as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, it will be enforced starting May 28, 2025, and for micro enterprises, it will apply from August 28, 2025.
According to the order, Wooden flush door shutters (solid core type) - Plywood face panels must conform to Indian Standard IS 2202 (Part 1):1999 and display the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. It should be emphasized that this directive does not cover goods or articles manufactured domestically for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards has been appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for Wooden flush door shutters (solid core type) - Plywood face panels as outlined in this directive.
Individuals found violating the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
