Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Plywood for concrete shuttering works - Specification) (Quality Control) Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently issued a Quality Control Order named "Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Quality Control) Order, 2024."

This order will come into effect on February 28, 2025.

However, for small enterprises as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, it will be enforceable starting May 28, 2025, and for micro enterprises, it will take effect from August 28, 2025.

Plywood intended for concrete shuttering works, as per this order, must comply with the relevant Indian Standard IS 4990: 2011 and display the Standard Mark after obtaining a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards according to Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Please note that this order excludes goods or articles produced domestically for export purposes.

The Bureau of Indian Standards has been appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for Plywood for concrete shuttering works - Specification under this order.

Individuals found violating the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
