BIS Amendment Order for the Agro Textiles (Flat Lay Tube for rain irrigation system)

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Textiles has issued the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, which will come into effect on July 1, 2024.

This order specifically applies to Flat Lay Tubes used in rain irrigation systems. Please note that it does not cover items intended for export.

The specified goods, Flat Lay Tubes for rain irrigation systems, must comply with Indian Standard IS 17728:2021. This standard covers Agro Textiles — High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Lay Flat Tubes and Fittings for use in rain irrigation systems.

Additionally, these Flat Lay Tubes must display the Standard Mark, which is obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. This must be in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards serves as the certifying and enforcing authority for Flat Lay Tubes used in rain irrigation systems.

Any individual who violates the stipulations of this Order will face penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
