OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released an extension order named the "Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2024."

This order will take effect six months from its publication in the Official Gazette.

Products identified as Cross Recessed Screws must meet the specifications outlined in Indian Standard IS 7486:2018/ISO 7047:2011. These include Raised countersunk head screws (Common Head Style) with type H or type Z cross recess - Product grade A. They are required to display the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau, as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

This order excludes goods or articles intended for export.

For micro-enterprises, as outlined in clauses (h) and (m) of section 2 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), the effective date is twelve months from the date of publication. For small enterprises, as defined in the same act, the effective date is nine months from the date of publication.

Enforcement: The Bureau will act as the certifying and enforcing body for Cross Recessed Screws.

Penalties:Any individual found violating the provisions of this order will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
