IS 8910:1978 provides the general guidelines for supplying carbon steel wire. The wire should be drawn from steel produced using open hearth, electric, duplex, basic oxygen, or a combination of these processes. Adequate discard should be implemented to ensure the absence of harmful pipe and segregation. Steel wires must be drawn to the specified dimensions with precision and cleanliness. They must be structurally sound and devoid of splits, surface flaws, rough or jagged edges, and other harmful surface defects. Upon testing, the carbon steel wire must meet the mechanical properties specified in the standard.

PACKING AND MARKING:

This license is granted following a comprehensive evaluation of manufacturing infrastructure, production processes, and testing capabilities during an inspection at the manufacturing premises by the Bureau.
