This standard excludes multi-unit electric stoves with multiple heating units and applies specifically to single-unit electric stoves with open type heating elements.

An adequately maintained laboratory is essential for conducting various tests according to the methods outlined in the standard.

MARKING

Marking must adhere to IS 302(Part 2/Sec 202) standards, and the product may bear the standard mark (ISI Mark). Under the product certification scheme, the Bureau of Indian Standards issues BIS certificates allowing the use of the standard mark (ISI Mark) on compliant goods. Manufacturers seeking to use the standard mark (ISI Mark) on electric stoves must obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. This license is granted following a thorough assessment of manufacturing infrastructure, processes, quality control, and testing capabilities during an on-site visit.
