In hydrophobic cement, additives are incorporated to diminish the capacity of cement grains to become wet. Common admixtures include Acidol, naphthensoap, oxidized petrolatum, and others with hydrophobic properties. These substances create a protective layer around cement particles, hindering water intrusion and the onset of hydration, especially during storage or transportation.
