Microfine cement, a variant of Portland cement infused with ultrafine particles, finds application in injection processes for loose soils, rocks, and concrete. Its minute particle size enables effortless penetration into narrow joints, crevices, and pore spaces, ensuring the creation of water-tight grouted rock or soil masses. When combined with a water-reducing agent, it becomes a versatile grouting material.

Microfine Ordinary Portland Cement packaging shall adhere to Clause 9 of IS 16993:2018. It is imperative for manufacturers to demonstrate compliance with this standard. The BIS Standard Mark (ISI Mark) must be visibly imprinted on each bag or drum of Microfine Ordinary Portland Cement, provided the contents meet the specifications. Marking procedures should align with IS 16993:2018 guidelines. Manufacturers are required to obtain a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards to utilize the standard mark (ISI Mark), which is granted upon successful evaluation of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control, testing capabilities, and production processes.
