Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Agro Textiles (Nylon Knitted seamless gloves) (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and is set to be implemented starting from July 1, 2024.

This directive specifically applies to products known as Nylon Knitted Seamless Gloves. It's important to note that this directive does not include items intended for export.

The designated products, Nylon Knitted Seamless Gloves, must comply with the applicable Indian Standard IS 16390:2015 (Agro Textiles — Specifications for Nylon Knitted Seamless Gloves used by tobacco harvesters).

Moreover, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for the specified products, Nylon Knitted Seamless Gloves.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
