Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Agro Textiles (Vermiculture beds) (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and is set to be implemented starting from July 1, 2024.

This directive specifically applies to products known as Vermiculture Beds. It's crucial to note that this directive does not cover items intended for export.

The designated products, Vermiculture Beds, must comply with the applicable Indian Standard IS 15907:2010 (Agro Textiles — Specifications for High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Woven Beds used in vermiculture).

Moreover, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for the specified products, Vermiculture Beds.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
