We have crucial announcement concerning the Indian Standard for the Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2024 impacting all current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers.

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has announced the Quality Control Order for Polypropylene (PP) Materials used in Moulding and Extrusion for the year 2024.

This directive will become effective 180 days following its publication in the Official Gazette. It pertains to products or items manufactured from Polypropylene (PP) materials for moulding and extrusion, with the exception of those designated for export.

Products crafted from Polypropylene (PP) materials for moulding and extrusion must adhere to Indian Standard IS 10951:2020. They are required to prominently feature the Standard Mark acquired under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-I specified in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Certification and enforcement for products made from Polypropylene (PP) materials used in moulding and extrusion will be overseen by the Bureau of Indian Standards.

Non-compliance with this order will lead to penalties as outlined in the corresponding legislation.
