OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued a (Quality Control) Amendment Order for 2024 titled "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

It will take effect on September 6th, 2024.

This order pertains to products, specifically Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement, as outlined in the accompanying Schedule. This requirement does not extend to products designated for export.

Products classified under Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement in the Schedule must comply with Indian Standard IS 11652:2017 (Specification for Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement) as specified in the Schedule. They are required to display the Standard Mark, which can be obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and regulatory authority for products falling under Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement as listed in the Schedule.
