OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has introduced a Quality Control Amendment Order for 2024 named "Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport, and Distribution (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

It will take effect on December 6th, 2024.

The order pertains to products, namely Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport, and Distribution, as outlined in the attached Schedule. It excludes products intended for export.

Products categorized as Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport, and Distribution listed in the Schedule must comply with Indian Standard IS 17399:2020 (Specifications for Textiles—Polypropylene (PP)/High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport, and Distribution) outlined therein. They must display the Standard Mark, which can be obtained by securing a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
