OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has released a Quality Control Order named "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 25 kg Polymer Materials (Quality Control) Order, 2023."

This order will come into effect 180 days after being published in the Official Gazette.

This order pertains to products, specifically Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 25 kg Polymer Materials, as specified in the accompanying Schedule. It excludes products intended for export.

Products categorized as Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 25 kg Polymer Materials listed in the Schedule must comply with Indian Standard IS 16703:2017 (Specification for Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 25 kg Polymer Materials) as outlined in the Schedule. They are required to display the Standard Mark, obtainable through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is authorized as the certifying and regulatory body for products falling under Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 25 kg Polymer Materials as listed in the Schedule.
