What This Means for Manufacturers
This extension simplifies certification for telecom equipment by allowing manufacturers to utilize ILAC-accredited test reports from eligible international laboratories. It provides:
Flexibility to source test reports from non-border sharing countries.
A streamlined path to comply with MTCTE regulations.
Manufacturers must ensure that test reports meet the two-year validity criteria and are submitted before June 30, 2025.
The MTCTE scheme ensures telecom equipment adheres to India's technical and safety standards, safeguarding public, industry, and national security interests.
This update reflects the government’s commitment to aligning global standards with the needs of India’s telecom sector. Stakeholders should act promptly to leverage this flexibility and ensure compliance within the extended timeline.
