MTCTE Compliance Notification – February 2025: Key Updates & Requirements

The Ministry of Communications (DoT) issued a notification on February 25, 2025, regarding the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) under the Telecommunications Act, 2023. Applicability of Standards: Telecom equipment listed in the notification must comply with the Essential Requirements (ER) defined by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC).

The new standards take effect from August 24, 2025 (180 days after notification).
After this date, importing, selling, distributing, or using non-certified telecom equipment will be prohibited.
