OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and will come into force on July 1, 2024.

This order pertains specifically to products or items, specifically Flexible Water Storage Tanks. It's essential to highlight that this order does not cover items intended for export.

The specified products, Flexible Water Storage Tanks, must comply with the applicable Indian Standard IS 17729:2021 (Agro-Textiles - Flexible Water Storage Tanks for Agriculture and Horticulture Purposes Specification).

Furthermore, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, adhering to the guidelines specified in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is authorized as the certifying and regulatory body for the specified product, Flexible Water Storage Tanks.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
