Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Agro Textiles (Hail Protection Nets (woven)) (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.

OVERVIEW

As per the latest directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been issued and will come into force on July 1, 2024.

This directive specifically applies to goods known as woven Hail Protection Nets. It's important to note that this directive does not apply to items intended for export.

The specified products, woven Hail Protection Nets, must conform to the applicable Indian Standard IS 17730 (Part 2) : 2021 (Agro—Textiles - Hail Protection Nets for Agriculture and Horticulture Purposes Specification Part 2 - Woven Hail Protection Nets).

Furthermore, these products must display the Standard Mark acquired via a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, adhering to the guidelines specified in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for the specified products, woven Hail Protection Nets.

Anyone found violating the provisions of this Order will face penalties as per the regulations stipulated in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
