The Protective Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Textiles, will become effective on the date it is published in the Official Gazette.

Manufacturers must obtain a license from the Bureau under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau serves as the certifying and regulatory authority for the designated products, specifically High Visibility Warning Clothes.

Those found breaching this order will be subject to penalties as per the provisions detailed in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
