OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has unveiled the "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for 50 kg Cement Packaging (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024." This update to the 2023 Quality Control Order focuses on enhancing standards for HDPE/PP woven sacks used in cement packaging.
The (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024" applies specifically to HDPE/PP woven sacks used for packaging 50 kg cement, as outlined in the attached Schedule. This order does not cover goods or articles intended for export.
Goods or articles listed under "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for 50 kg Cement Packaging" in the Schedule must comply with Indian Standard IS 11652:2017. This specification details requirements for HDPE/PP woven sacks used in 50 kg cement packaging. These items must display the Standard Mark, which can be obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is the certifying and enforcing authority for goods and articles classified under "Textiles—High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for 50 kg Cement Packaging" as listed in the Schedule.
