The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has released a draft Quality Control Order named the K Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2024. Here are the key provisions of this Order:

Title and Effective Date:This Order will be known as the K Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2024. It will take effect 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

Scope and Applicability: This Order pertains to K Acid goods and articles, excluding those intended for export.

Standards and Certification:

• K Acid goods and articles must comply with Indian Standard IS 11557:1986.

• These goods must feature the Standard Mark, obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), following Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Certifying and Enforcing Authority: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for K Acid goods and articles.
