Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024.

POLYESTER CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FULLY DRAWN YARN

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Quality Control Amendment Order, 2024, which mandates that Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn must adhere to Indian Standard IS 17261:2019. Additionally, these products must display the Standard Mark, obtained under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Quality Control Amendment Order, 2024 will come into effect on July 18, 2024.

Provided that this Order does not apply to Low Melt Polyester Yarn.

Additionally, this Order does not extend to goods or articles that are manufactured domestically for export purposes.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the designated authority for certification and enforcement concerning Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn as outlined in this Order.

Failure to comply with the provisions of this Order will incur penalties as stipulated under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
