We have crucial announcement concerning the Indian Standard for the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023, impacting all current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers.
BIS QCO for the Steel and Steel Products
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Steel has issued the Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order under the BIS Act, 2016. It mandates that all imported steel products must possess a BIS license and be accompanied by a Mill Test Certificate, prominently displaying ISI and BIS license numbers.
To ensure adherence, importers of steel must submit clarification requests via the TCQCO Portal for every shipment lacking BIS certification.
The Ministry of Steel has established a Technical Committee to review these applications and ascertain whether the products fall under the Steel Quality Control Order (QCO).
This communication is authorized to offer clarity and guidance regarding imports of IT hardware.
