The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Quality Control Third Amendment Order, 2024, dated 6th December 2024. The Order introduces updates for the following Indian Standards and products:

Key Provisions:

1. IS 11652: 2017: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) / Polypropylene (PP) Woven Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement

2. IS 16709: 2017: Polypropylene (PP) Woven, Laminated, Block Bottom Valve Sacks for Packaging of 50 kg Cement.

3. IS 17399: 2020: Polypropylene (PP) / High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport, and Distribution.

Key Highlights

• The Quality Control Order for the above-mentioned products will come into effect on 6th June 2025.

• The principal Quality Control Order (QCO) was initially issued on 6th December 2023 and subsequently amended on 4th June 2024 and 13th September 2024.

• This latest amendment ensures updated compliance requirements for products under the specified standards, with the new effective date set for 6th June 2025.
