Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Cookware and Utensils (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
Extension QCO For The Cookware, Utensils and Cans for Foods and Beverages
OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released the "Extenstion for Cookware, Utensils, and Cans for Foods and Beverages (Quality Control) Order 2024."
This Order may be called the Cookware, Utensils and Cans for Foods and Beverages (Quality Control) Order, 2024
Goods or articles specified in Column (2) of the Table shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard specified in Column (3) of the Table and shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Date of implementation in General (other than micro and small enterprises) is on 1st April, 2025

Date of Implementation for micro enterprises is on 1st October, 2025

Date of Implementation for small enterprises is on 1st July, 2025
The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles
Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
