Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Flashlight (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released the draft Flashlight (Quality Control) Order, 2024, set to take effect six months after its publication in the E-Gazette. Stakeholders are invited to provide their feedback within 60 days of the draft notification.
Refined zinc must meet the requirements of Indian Standard IS 2083:2024 and bear the Standard Mark, granted under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This is mandated as per Scheme-I of Schedule-II under the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The BIS will act as the certifying and enforcement authority to ensure compliance with this order.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is the official certifying and enforcing authority for shoe covers as outlined in this Order. Any violations of this Order will incur penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
