BIS Amendment Order for the Lauric Acid

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has issued the Lauric Acid Amendment Order, 2024, scheduled to be effective from October 24, 2024.

This order applies to products containing Lauric Acid, with the exclusion of those meant for export.

To ensure conformity, Lauric Acid products must meet Indian Standard IS 10931:1984 and display the Standard Mark. This necessitates obtaining a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I as specified in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards serves as the certifying and enforcing authority for products governed by this order, particularly Lauric Acid.

Individuals found violating the provisions of this order will face penalties in accordance with the relevant legislation.
