Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Palm Fatty Acids Amendment Order, 2024.
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has announced the Palm Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, which amends the Palm Fatty Acids (Quality Control) Order, 2022.
This amendment is set to take effect on October 24, 2024.
The regulation pertains to products containing Palm Fatty Acids, with the exception of those designated for export.
For compliance, products containing Palm Fatty Acids must meet Indian Standard IS 12067:1987 and feature the Standard Mark. This involves acquiring a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards under Scheme-I as outlined in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards serves as the certifying and enforcing authority for products governed by this order, particularly Palm Fatty Acids.
Individuals found violating the provisions of this order will face penalties in accordance with the relevant legislation.
