The Central Government's Directive

Acknowledging the significance of upholding high standards in the production and distribution of aluminum ingots, billets, and wire bars, the Central Government has taken a crucial measure. It has stipulated that these products must adhere to the relevant Indian Standard outlined in IS 4026: 2023.

Under this updated regulation, Aluminum ingots, billets, and wire bars meeting the specified Indian Standard will be eligible to display the Standard Mark. However, securing this authorization will necessitate manufacturers to acquire a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
