For the upper portion, printed grain leather in any color 'A' that meets the requirements of IS 578:1985 is required. Vegetable-tanned leather meeting the requirements of IS 3840:1979 must be used.

The boots must be ankle-high and of derby style, featuring six eyelets and a full vamp. They should be constructed on lasts that adhere to IS 5520:1969 standards. Additionally, the shoes, designed in a derby style, should have four eyelets or fewer as specified by the purchaser and must be built on lasts meeting IS 5520:1969 standards. A steel toe cap must reinforce the toe, and the tongue should be padded. Moreover, the vamp must be fully lined.
