The boots specified in this standard feature uppers crafted from chrome-tanned barton printed leather, while the toe and counter utilize smooth leather. These boots are equipped with a cleated rubber outsole designed to prevent slips. They must adhere to the physical criteria outlined in the standard and comply with design C of IS 15298 (Part 4). Manufactured using a direct molding process with Strobel stitching, the boots incorporate a PU midsole and vulcanized rubber outsole.

To use the standard mark (ISI Mark), the Manufacturer must acquire a BIS license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, which is granted following a successful evaluation of manufacturing infrastructure, quality control and testing capabilities, and production processes.
