The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released a draft announcement for the Refrigerated Storage closets and Counters & Blast Chiller and Freezer closets( Quality Control) Order, 2025. This order covers products classified under these orders, which must meet the conditions of Indian Standard IS 188022023, Blast Chiller and Freezer closets.
All such particulars must carry the BIS Standard Mark, issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian norms( BIS) as per Scheme – I of Schedule – II of the BIS( Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

• GGeneral manufacturers (excluding micro and small enterprises): 6 months from publication

• Small enterprises: 9 months from publication.

• Micro enterprises: 12 months from publication.

Goods produced solely for import are pure. The BIS will oversee instrument and enforcement for all covered products. Non-compliance will invite penalties under the Bureau of Indian norms Act, 2016.
