OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Mines has released the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Amendment Order, 2024 of (Quality Control) Order, 2023," set to be effective three months after its publication.

This directive emphasizes the quality assurance of high-purity primary aluminum ingots, excluding items designated for export purposes.

In order to adhere, these products must adhere to Indian Standard IS 11890:1987 and display the Standard Mark. This mark is only permissible under a license issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, in accordance with Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
