OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Mines has released the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Amendment Order, 2024" under the Quality Control Order of 2023, set to become effective three months after its publication.

This directive is aimed at guaranteeing the quality of aluminum and aluminum alloy ingots and castings, with exceptions for products intended for export.

To adhere, these products must meet Indian Standard IS 617:1994 and bear the Standard Mark. This mark is permissible for use solely under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
