The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has released a draft notification titled the Automotive Valves, Valve Accessories & Caps (Quality Control) Order, 2025. This order will take effect from the date it is published in the Official Gazette. It applies to products categorized as automotive valves, valve accessories, and caps, which must comply with the specifications detailed in Indian Standard IS 18885-3:2021, TPMS Valves.

Every such product must carry the Standard Mark and hold a valid license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme–I of Schedule–II under the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

• General manufacturers (excluding micro and small enterprises): within 6 months of publication.

• Small enterprises: within 9 months from publication.

• Micro enterprises: within 12 months from publication.

The order does not apply to products manufactured in India exclusively for export. BIS will serve as the certification and enforcement authority for goods covered under this regulation. Any violation of the order’s provisions will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
