The Ministry of Mines has released the "Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys Amendment Order, 2024" under the Quality Control Order of 2023, slated to take effect on December 1, 2024.

This directive emphasizes the quality assurance of aluminum ingots, billets, and wire bars (EC GRADE), with exemptions for products designated for export.

For compliance, these products must adhere to Indian Standard 4026: 2023 and display the Standard Mark. This mark is authorized for use only under a license obtained from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following Scheme-1 outlined in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
