Key update regarding the Indian Standard applicable to current license holders, new applicants, manufacturers, importers, and product sellers for the Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Solid core type)) (Quality Control) Order, 2023.

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently released a Quality Control Order titled "Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Quality Control) Order, 2023."
This order will come into effect six months after its official notification date.
However, for Small Enterprises as defined under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), enforcement will begin nine months after the publication date of this notification.
For Micro Enterprises, as defined under the same Act, the order will be enforced twelve months after the publication date of this notification.
Under this directive, all products related to Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters must comply with Indian Standard 2202(Part 2): 2022 (Wooden Flush Door Shutters (Solid core type) — Particle Board, High Density Fibre Board, Medium Density Fibre Board and Fibre Hardboard Face Panels) and display the Standard Mark. This necessitates a Bureau of Indian Standards license under Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
It is noteworthy that this Order excludes goods or articles produced domestically solely for export purposes.
The Bureau of Indian Standards is appointed as the certifying and regulatory authority for Plywood and Wooden Flush Door Shutters.
In case of non-compliance, individuals who contravene the provisions of this Order will be subject to penalties under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
