The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has notified the “Rolled Glass (Quality Control) Order, 2025.”

• The Order will come into force six months from the date of notification in the e-Gazette.

• The implementation date for General (excluding Micro and Small Enterprises) will be as per Column (4) of the notified Table.

• The implementation date for Small Enterprises will be as per Column (5) of the Table.

• The implementation date for Micro Enterprises will be as per Column (6) of the Table.

• Rolled glass products specified in Column (1) of the Table must conform to the corresponding Indian Standards indicated in Columns (2) and (3).

• These products must bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

• The provisions of this Order shall not apply to goods or articles meant for export.

Certification and Enforcement: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will act as the certifying and enforcing authority for rolled glass products under this Order.

Penalty for Non-Compliance: Any contravention of the provisions of this Order will be punishable under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
