Important notice on the Indian Standard applicable to all current licence holders, prospective applicants, manufacturers, importers, and sellers of Aluminium Alloy Miscellaneous Products under the Quality Control Order, 2025.

OVERVIEW

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued a draft notification for the Aluminium Alloy Miscellaneous Products (Quality Control) Order, 2025. This order covers goods classified as aluminium amalgamation eclectic products, which must misbehave with the conditions set out in Indian Standard IS 18251983, Aluminium Alloy Milk Barrels. All similar products must display the BIS Standard Mark, issued under a licence from the Bureau of Indian norms( BIS) in agreement with Scheme – I of Schedule – II of the BIS( Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Compliance timelines:

General manufacturers( banning micro and small enterprises) within 6 months of publication.
Small enterprises within 9 months of publication.
Micro enterprises within 12 months of publication The order does n't apply to goods manufactured simply for import.

BIS will serve as the instrument and enforcement authority for these products. Any violation will attract penalties under the Bureau of Indian norms Act, 2016.
