OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Textiles has introduced the Geotextiles (Quality Control) Order, 2024. Stay informed about this important regulation for quality control in geotextiles!
This order will take effect on April 1, 2025.
This order specifically applies to the following products: Geosynthetics — Synthetic Polymer Rope Gabions for Coastal and Waterway Protection.
Please be aware that this order does not apply to goods intended for export.
All Geosynthetics — Synthetic Polymer Rope Gabions for Coastal and Waterway Protection must comply with Indian Standard IS 17880:2022. These products are required to display the Standard Mark, issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
The Bureau of Indian Standards will act as the certifying and enforcing authority for these products. Stay updated on these compliance requirements!
