The Ministry of Textiles has released a draft Quality Control Order for Ropes and Cordages, known as the Ropes and Cordages (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
This Order will take effect six months following its publication in the Official Gazette.
For Small and Micro Enterprises, as defined by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (Act 27 of 2006), the Order will take effect nine months after its publication.
This Order specifically applies to textiles, including Manila ropes, but excludes products intended for export.

This mark is obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), following Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
